SThe twenty-fourth annual meeting of thi) Diamond Association Footbnll Club mis held on Tuesday night,- Jlr. If. 11. Davenport (president) was in tho chair. Several new members wore elected. A resolution of sympathy and condolence was passed to the relatives of thoso.honoured members ,v l lo bad. in tho great war played their laet game. Tho.names of over fifty!past and present members -who had served during tho I war are. to be inscribed, on the club's roll of honour. . It was remarked that one old member. 1). Hathaway, was -probably one of* the tirst New Zoalnnders co give his life for the Empire. He was drowned in the torpedoing ■"■ of the warship Formidable pnrlv-.in- tho war and before- the New Zealand - Expeditionary Forces went, into action ■■
MARIST BROTHERS . OLD "33OYS. | The Annual meeting of the Jfnrist Old Boys' ' Club was held last evening. Mr. II." M'Kcowen presided over , a large attendance of members. The chairman congratulated tho members on the success attained last season,- especially the senior team, which iii- its first year in llinth'i'ade were rumiers-up in the championship, losing their final fiiime. by I—o. Whilst no cups were annexed in the lower grades, Ihe standard of play was excellent.
