KNIVES.
■ Desperate street fighting between blade and white sailors in tho Broomielaw district of Glasgow resulted iu tho admission of three wen to'the infirmary and the arrest of thirty-one men. An argument is Eaid to have developed among the rival parties which ended in a challenge from one of 'the blacks to fight any number of whites. 'Within a minute a general tight had developed in which' lists were quickly superseded by knives and revolvers.
The blacks, outnumbered and outfought, made a stubborn retreat to a bonrdinghouse. Gaining entry to (ho dwelling, one of tho blacks began firing down on tho pursuers from an open window in the third flat. The large crowd in the street became greater than ever at the turn of events and stores were thrown at the windows, which were quickly swashed. Police finally separated the groups and tho arrested men wcro driven to the station in wagons amid a fusillade of missiles.
