FATAL PEA-RIFLE ACCIDENT. By TelcffraDli.-Preae Association. Invercargill, Maroh 24. A telegraph messenger, Edward O'Toole, aged fifteen, while out rabbit shooting with a pea-rifle, was fatally shot. While attempting to detach the stock from the barrel of the gun the weapon discharged, tho bullet- .entering the abdomen. An operation was performed, but tho lad died before midnight. WOMAN DROWNS HERSELF IN A BATH. . : Dunodin, March 24. Mrs. Euphemiu Bonfell, aged 53, was found drowned in a bath at her residence yesterday. At an inquest to-day her husband said the deceased had not been in good health for some time, and was subject to fits of depression. An verdict was returned that deceased drowned herself while in an unsound state of mind. SUDDEN DEATH OF A CARRIER, Nelson, March 24. Philip Joseph M'Namara... formerly a railway giinrd and now a carrier, was discovered lying on the Port lload, and, succumbed in a few seconds. It is presumed he fell oft' his express.
