A largely-attended meeting of the Miners' Union was held last night, at which, after considerable discussion, itwas resolved by V large' majority, that the union notify the mining .companies' that the union" is desirous of reopening ■tho question of''the seven men' at present standing out of the union. Nominations .to fill the .vacancies caused by tho resignations of tho president (Mr. 11. A. Pipe) and the secretary (Mr. J. Juder) :were r reeeived.. These two were again nominated along with Air. T. Norcott for the presidency and Messrs, H. Fagan, N. J. Moon, and C. Naylor for the secretaryship. The election ia to be held as early as possible.
