The Boy Scouts of Wellington on Saturday afternoon held a rally in Central Park in order to say farewell to Sur-geon-General Henderson, who is shortly to leave New Zealand for the. Old Countrv. The following troops were present: Sea Scouts (Captain Chmlley), Kelburn (Assistant Scoutmaster Hampton), St. Paul's (Scoutmaster M'Kenziei, Y.M.C.A. (Scoutmaster Guwie), Brooklyn (Scoutmaster Dent), St. Peter's No. I and Newtown Congregational (Scoutmaster Gaskin), and Boys' Institute. The Senior Scout officers on parade were Colonel Cosgrovc (Chief Scout for New Zealand) and District Scoutmaster Phillips. Scoutmaster Dent, on behnlf of all the Scouts in the Wellington district, presented Surgeon-General Henderson with a, gold-mounted walking stick. In doing so Mr. Dent, expressed the Scouts' appreciation of what the General had been to thoir movement, in Wellington and through tho whole of New Zealand. He had endeared himself to all, and had set before them :i very valuable example. The best, expression that the Scouts could give to their appreciation would bo to carry out the Generals advice to the best, of their nbilily. New Zealand and met Scouts in other parts he would make it his business to tell how keen and eager were the Remits in New Zealand. During the epidemic, the Scouts had worked morning, noon, and night to help others, especially the suffering and afflicted. Tho boys of to-dny were the men of to-morrow, and on t.'iem the success of the country would depend. Tlio Scouts should, therefore remember to do all they ; could to prepare themselves to carry out. their future duties. They must also remember their solemn promise and the Scout law, the observance of which would provide them with tho best, means of becoming useful to others. He thanked them, for their presentation to him. Major-General Eobin joined with the Scouts in their regret, at losing SurgeonGeneral Henderson and in their wish that he should have bon voyage and all success in the future. He himself had been much interested in the work of the Scouts, and hoped to see more of it Both "officers were heartily cheered by tho boys.
