WARSHIPS AS TRANSPORTS
AMERICA SPEEDING UP HER . DEMOBILISATION. (Rec. March 23, 5.5 p.m.) London, March 22. The United States Government is using battleships and cruisers to transport troops. They make the round trip from Brest to New York in forty days. Tho battleships carry twelve hundred troops and the cruisers fifteen hundred.—Aue.N.Z. Cable Assn.
WILL BRITAIN FOLLOW SUIT? (Rec. Marsh 23, 11-30 p.m.)
London, March 22. The British Admiralty is willing to employ warships for repatriating oversea troops if crews are available. It is pointed out that American warships which are repatriating Americans are in good order, because they did not partioipate '■ actively in tho war,—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Asen.
