LOWRY BAY CONVALESCENT HOME
Sir.-There is keen disappointment among returned soldiers who are convalescing at Lowry Bay because tha military authorities are closing the in-, stitution in two or tliree weeks. If it is a matter of a triflo more expense the authorities could reasonably keep the Lowry Bay Home open throuunoul; the winter, especially after having made' structural alterations and. additions for the purpose of accommodating patients, instead of removing the men to such a cold, bleak place as Trentliam is in the winter. The Eastbourne side of the harbour is two or three degrees warmer than Wellington, and would undoubtedly be considerably warmer than Trentham. Speaking as a discharged soldier who lias returned to civilian life. I do liopo the military authorities will consider the desire' of the men in this matter, which I venture to suggest is at least worthy of consideration.—l am, etc., CYMA.
