According to a recent census, Germany now possesses over 700 factoring for dryin* specially potatoes, 150 corn-drying establishments, 400 open drying plants suitable for partly ilcssicating different products, 250 vegetable-des;icating factories, 23 milk-drying establishments, and 100 plants established specially for the drying of cabbages. THE PROHIBITION POLL. World-wide experience shows that increased national prosperity has followed wherever prohibition is in operation. In considering the whole question of prohibition, the National Efficiency Board gave special attention to this matter, and its report pointed cut that "the diversion to more'productive trade channels of the money now spent in liquor will more than counteract the loss of revenue received from this service." • This sentence from a report, by an impartial bodv of business men is the best answer to the question of revenue. The figures presented by tho Efficiency League clearly show thi}t when Neiv_ Zealand votes prohibition we can look forward not only to increased national prosperity, but also to a much greater revenue than we now secure from tho liquor traffic.
