SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.
An enjoyable programme, provided by tile Misses M. and U. Clarke, was presented at the Sailors' Friend Society on Thursday. The items were received with iiubounded applause by the big audience. The performers were the Jlisscs D. and 11. Clarke, Massey, Lewis, Dixon, Monkman, Oughtoii, and Messrs. Brooken, Martin, M'Donald, nnif' Jackson. Mrs. Dempster and Misses Clarke and Clapp were at the piano. Mr. Moore, nnssioner, led the competitions, and expicsscd the thanks of the men for the helpful prizes (books). A rousing vote of thanks was responded to by the hostesses.
