The Department oi Agrictuiture has held its first sale of pedigree Ayrshire stock at Moumahaki Stato Furm, and it is considered that tho sale was responsible for the finest display of that breed of cattle ever seen in tho Dominion. In all. 43 head were sold. The highest prioe, 58 guineas, was jtaid by Mr. F. .Hills, Hawera, for- Agnes 111, whilst Mr. lawton, of Afaiuku, paid s(igns. for ■ Dominion Femvick Maggie. The averago for the 43 head, winch included a large number of calves, was 20gns.
