DOVER PATROL MEMORIAL

SIR ROGER. KEYES' MESSAGE,

Tlio announcement of the formation of j a Dover Patrol War Memorial Fund lias I caused tlie liveliest satisfaction (states the "Daily Hail"). The idea, is to erect a suitable memorial to the men who gave their lives while "guarding the Gatoway of the Channel" and making possible the transport, of our forces to France. The Mavor of Dover, Mr. I'i. . I. Parley, M.8.E., president of the Dover Patrol Memorial, lias received the following message from Sir Roger Keyes, ViceAdmiral of the Patrol:— . "All who have served 111 the Dover PahW will be grateful to tlio Mayor of Dover for having initiatcil such an appropriate memorial to their comrades of the British and French Navies who laid down their lives while guarding the Gateway of the Channel. "ROGER KEYES. As was staled in the Mayor's # letter, subject to adequate financial support, it is proposed: 1. To erect a memorial 011 the. cliffs of Dover -to the men of the Dover Patrol. 2. To erect n memorial on the French side of the Channel somewhere near Capo Clri'sntz to the memory of the French sailors who shared in the perils of their British comrades.

3. To erect a memorial in America as a tribute to (he part played by the American Naval Forces, from their "Comrades of the Mist." •t. To provide in Dover a hostel for the use of sailors.
