At a public .meeting this evening the m ration of a port for Chrislchurch was I ono into .and the following motion was Srried: "That this meeting of North Ontcrbury ami Greater Chnstehurch c ens hereby pledges itself to assist the Port for Cliristchurch Loaguc in its determination to create nnd open n deep water seaport in the Sumner Estuary, nl ,<l will support only those candidates in the forthcoming immicipal and Harbour Hoard elections who definitely advocated this scheme."
