WATERSIDERS' DISPUTE
APPEAL TO COURT EXPECTED.
The negotiations which the watersidt workers throughout.the Dominion have conducted with tho employers appear to have reached a deadlock (says the Christchurch "Sun"). The workers applied some time ago for a revision of wages, but the employers refused' to negotiate, holding that as tho men worked under an award they should go to the Arbitration Court for relief. Up to now, despite some correspondence, the watersiders have refused to invoke the aid of the Court, and the employers have been just as determined in their attitude. However, in view of the nttitudo taken up by the Arbitration Court that wages must increaso in proportion to the increased cost of living, .it is now expected that the executive of the Waterside Workers' Union will depart from its Srovious position and go to the Court, evelopments in this respect are expected at any time.
