THE PROHIBITION POLL. How are wc going to make up Hie loss of revenuo if Prohibition is carried? The liquor folk argue that the measure would be disastrous. The Prohibitionists .reply that facts and figures show tljjtt Prohibition would result; in. a wonderful gain in national revenue. The best way is to accept the findings of a purely impartial body. The National Efficiency Board carefully weighed the whole matter before reporting to the Government, and commented thus: "The people ■should be better able to provide the necessary taxation if the' inefficiency at present created by the effects of alcohol is removed. Less expenditure will be required in connection with the Police and Prisons Departments, the Hospital: and Charitable Aid Boards, etc." Add' to this the fact that Canada and the United States have found that Prohibition has meant greatly increased national prosperity, and the unbiassed elector can only come to' one conclusion—it is his duty to strike nut the top line on Thursday, April 10, rnd give New Zealand this great reform.—Advt.
