MASTER PLUMBERS
. CONFERENCE ENDED. The annual conference of the Master Plumbers' Association was. brought to a close on Saturday. An official of tho association intormed a Dominion reporter that tbe master plumbers had completed a very useful week's work. They had dealt chiefly with the improvement of sanitation by-laws and matter's connected wit : i public health. Consideration had been given to the jurisdiction of various local authorities and the methods adopted of enforcing sanitation measures. Ihe conference, representative of plumbing experts from one end of the Dominion to the ctlitr. urged that more adequate definition of local authorities' duties was necessary if tho present Plumbers' Registration Act were to be enforced as intendci by the Government. The conference agreed to forward suggestions to tho Minister of Public Health. A deputation representing the conference conveyed suggestions to Dr. Frengley, chairman of ihe Plumbers' Registration Board. At the conclusion of the general business tiro conference tendered a vote of appreciation, to Mr. J. S. Douglas for his past services as employers' representative on the Plumbers Board of New Zealand. The delegates agreed to recommend his appointment for a further teem. A special vote of thanks was accorded tho Wellington master plumbers for the excellent manner in which they had prepared for tho conference and entertained the visiting delegates and their wives during the week. A vote of thanks was tendered to tho outgoing executive.
