The Rev. Joseph White, Presbyterian minister, died at Levin on Saturday at the age of 80 years. He came to New Zealand in the early 'sixties as a mwsionary under commission from , the Limed Free Churches of England. After holding various important parishes in this denomination lie joined the Presbyterian Church in 1887, and held parishes throughout the Dominion. He retired from active work in 1910.—Press Assn.

Lieutenant-Colonel J. N. Rifhworth, deputy-director of dental services, was a passenger by the Manuka, which _ arrived from Sydney on Friday. Lieuten ant-Colonei Rishworth, who has been on active service, returned via America and Australia. In America he investigated methods employed in the dental schools, on which he , will report to the Government.

Mr. S. George Nathan has been asked to allcw himself to bn nominated for tho Oitv Council. Mr. Nathan, who listened favourably to the committee's representations as to the need of "new blood," will give an answer this week.
