SAILINGS POSTPONED. The Auckland office of tho Union Company yesterday advised the local branch that postponements had been made in tho sailings of three of their overseas vessels from that port as follow:—Tlie Manuka will now sail.on Tuesday for Sydney; Talunc, about March 24 for the Western Paeiflu Islands; Niagara, on April 4, far Vancouver, via Suva and Honolulu. Over 1100 tons of cargo are on board the Union Company's Mokoiai which will arrive hero this morning from Auckland. A discharging berth wilt be taken, at No. 4 Queen's Wharf, and she will sail for Dunedin direct on Tuesday.of local cargo will be reeeived. MONOWAI SAILS ON MONDAY. The East Coast service steamer Monowai was dispatched from Auckland at 10 p.m. on Thursday for Napier and Wellington, and she is due here to-morrow morning. At 5 p.m. on Monday tho vessel wili sail for Lyttelton and Dunedin, but owine to the. lateness of her running she will not take cargo. SCHOONER ALERT AT DUNEDIN. Laden with case oil from San Francisco. ; the Amorican echooner'. Alert, to tho agenoy of Messrs. A. S. Paterson and Co., arrived at Port Chalmers at 7 o'clock last night, 'after a passage of. 59 days. Tho schooner Fearless also left San Francisco on January 14, .the same day as did the Alert, for Wellington, but has I. not been reported to date. Messrs. A. S. Paterson anu Co. have oil on tho vessel. HORORATA ARRIVES. The Hororata anchored in the stream at 7.25 o'clock last night, on arrival from i London, via Panama. A'few hours after ' her troops have landed : to-day she will leave for Auckland to start discharging. Through the services of the Government Seamen Inspector (Captain W. Clark) over 1200 seamen and firemen, etc.. were engaged for vessols at Wellington during the months of January and February.
