Tho New Zealand Lean and-Mercantile Agency Co. report:—At our lliraatanin sale on Jlonda-y we had a. moderate yaraiii? of 'both Bheep and caitlc. lhe <itt.endanco was poor, but wc managed to clear the yard, with the exception of one pen, at tho following prices:—l'.i. lambs, 18s/} stubble lambs, 9s. 6d.; f.f.m. • ewes, 205.; Shropshire rams, 205.; fat 155.; store cows, £5 15a. to £6; cull cows, £4.15.; mixed weaners, 323. Messrs. Dalgety. and Co.. Ltd., import having held their weekly sale at Ijcvin on Tuesday, when they offered a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. The following are tho principal quotations: Two-tooth owes, to 265.; f.f.m. ewes, 225.; forward shorn lambs, to 13s. .9d.; woolly iambs, lis. 9d. to 12s. 2d.; shorn do., Bs. 3d. to 9s. Id.; Bmall Bhorn lambs, 6s. Id. to 6s. 6d.; forward cows, £7 ss. to £7 17s. 6d.; store cows, £5 4s. to £5 lis.; four-year bullocks, to £11 7s 6d.; three-year do., to £9 155.; yearling steers, £3 18s. to £4 2s. 6d.; heifers, to calvc 10 weeks, £7 12s. Though bidding was by no means brisk wo <l)Bpose'd of moßt of our entry under the hammer at the following rtf.teF:—Two four*tooth owes 20b. 9d.; four-voar ewes, 19s. to* 215.; mixed aged ewes, 18h. 6d. to 19s. 3d.; live-year ewes, lis.; cull-, ewes, 3s. 9d.; four-tooth -wethers, 265. 9d.; two-tooth wethers, 235. lid.; woolly' wf. lambß, 14s. 4d. The sheep met. with rather a dragging sale,' but for everything else there was keen competition.
