The fi.rsfc day of the Wanganui Agricultural Association's annual show was favoured by ffno-though windy weather, c The show was postponed from November i owing to the/epidemic, and though the i entries are fewer now than in 1917; tho i quality of : tho stock Shows an improve- e ment. The entries, of stock'»-..aro also c ■slightly in advance of the last show, the £ decrease in the general entries being due .to'the falling-oil' in homo industries and schools. On tlxe whole, therefore, tho show promises to.he.very.successful, and la. large attendance is expected to-morrow,' People's Day, when the'judging of horses and competitions will 'bo- concluded. . ' HORSES. : Horses proved a weaker section than usual, though it is anticipated'that some good stuff, including draughts, is coming forward to-morrow. Miss G. Mahcr, of * Hastings, was awarded first for mounted rifle horse. Ponies were a. good even lot. PIGS. There was a very fine display of pigs, <j thanks to Mrs. Wall,, of Hastings, and i that exhibitor appropriated all tho championships. li o
