THE THANKSGIVING SERVICE ON THE QUEEN ELIZABETH.

The order of the service of thanksgiving held in H.M.S. Queen Elizabeth, flagship of Sir David Beatty, Cominander-in-Chief of the Grand Fleet, began with Hymn 165 (".All People That on Earth Do Dwell"); the lesson—lievelation xxi., 1-9 ("And I saw a. new heaven and. a new earth") followed; then the address; and then Hymn £98 ("Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven"). Some of the thanksgiving sentences w«ro as follow:— For the triumph ovor tlie enemy fleet and for the victory which Thou hast granted to our arms: "Praiso be to Thee, 0 Lord most High." For the trust in the Navy shown by our people at home through years of danger and anxiety: ■ ' • 'Praise be to Thee, 0 Lord most High," For that Thou hast enabled us to save our land from invasion and our people from famine and distress: "Prafee be to Thee, 0 Lord most High." For the preservation of our lives after long y«ars of war and for the Lope of a righteous peace: "Praiao be to Thee 0 Lord most High." For the spirit ,of cheerfulness, loyalty, and brotherhood that has inspired .our Fleet: "Prniso bo to Thee, 0 Lord most High." Before the Messing, Hymn 379 ("Now Thank We All Our God") was sung, and after it "God Save tho King."
