There aro quite a number of horses in work at Woodvillo just now and the forthcoming meeting ■promises to bo a. most successful one. Nominations for all events at tho 'forthcoming autumn j'meeting of tho Uawke*s Bay Jockey''Club close with the secretary, Air. It. D. Moss, at 8 p.m. on Friday. , , The Masterton Racing Club has nominated Messrs. C. [F. Vallance and H. R. liunny as delegates to the District Committee, and Messrs. C. F. Vallance and W. E. iiidwill as district club's representatives to the Racing Conference. Tho disqualification of Air. E. W.Alison, jnn., by the stewards of tho Hamilton Club will probably lie considered by the Auckland District Committee next Thursday.'"' Mr. Alison has appealed, and midor the rules the disqualification does not take effect outside tho Hamilton Club until it has been approved by tho District Committee. Greenstciid, a four-year-old son of The Welkin, is expected to make a bold bid for victory in the Caullicld Futurity Stakes, which event comes up for decision to-day. The race in question is run over seven furlongs at weight-fur-age, witli penalties and allowances. When Juan fell in tho Omahu Hurdles at Napier on Saturday the local horseman R. Manson bruised his shoulder, and wilUiave to take a spell for a week or two. Locally there is a lot of interest in the Wairarapa meeting,, which takes place on Thursday and Friday of this week. Bonny Maid, Mascot, and Rose Pink are to contest the Cup, and tho last-named is oin of the popular fancies. The Otaki trainer M. AVillianis, with Maim, left for TVuiherenikau yesterday. The half-brother to Waimatao galloped well on several occasions before leaving home. The New Zealand-owned Lingerie was amongst the starters in the Oakieigh Plato at Caulfield on Saturday. Jler owner, Mr. W. Richmond, received a •cablegram from. .1. At; Cameron,- staging that tho black mare would run well. ' Rbbekah, who woii on -both days at •Nehsori. has now scored four times in succession. Her ow.ner, Air. J. J. Corry, has not been oho of Fortune's favourites on the turf, and if, as is thought, Rebekah is a high-class filly, no one will begrudge the Marlborough sportsman any successes that comes his way. In tile past Air. Corry has been a free buyer of yearlings and proved gallopers, but they have generally met with accidents before they raced. Gold Problem, who was a dual winner at Nelson, is now out of the hack class, and will, iii future have to .race in open company. .His stable companion Ahika, who is generally found competing in open company, is not yet out of the hack class.
