Measures for the suppression of the Spartacus outbreak in Berlin are. progressing satisfactorily. The attack against tho Spartacists in the Alexander quarter is proceeding favourably. The rioters have surrounded the prefecture of police, which the; troops are defending. Other troops are arriving for its relief. The Spartacista at Halle pillaged and wrecked shops and houses and drowned many of the officers and university students, and also threw motor-cars into the river. After severe fighting the Government troops gained control. The Government troops surrounded Leipzig. The Spartacists entrenched outside. the town, which aviators are bombing. The Workmen and Soldiers' Council in Berlin has decided to terminate the general strike conditionally that none are punished, the troops are withdrawn, and the prisoners arrested during the riots released.
