RIFLE SHOOTING
KARORI CLUB. Miramar, consistent with its reputation, proved troublesome to riflemen on Saturday afternopn, and several good shoots were spoilt by the marksmen being beaten by tricky conditions at 600 yards. In the C.A.C. Cup competition Rifleman W. Skegg proved tlio winner with an aggregate score of 16-3 oft' the rifle scored over ranges 500 and GOO and 300, 500, and 600 yards. Rifleman Farquhar was run-ner-up with 160 and secures a trophy. Eiflem#i Preston obtained ton aggregate amongst handicap inen with 157, including 12 handicap, and also wins a trophy. Rifleman A. Guise wins the special trophy presentee! by President ,T. Rabe (the second donated this senson), and President; J. Rabe and Rifleman J. Moyes each win prizes of ammunition. The teams matches for the C. W. Martin Challenge Badges were won by President Rube's team with a total score of 313 points, Deputy-President Harris's team being defeated by 18 points. Owing to tho Defence Rifle Association meeting being held next week, the club will not shoot at Miramar next Saturday. PETONE CLUB. The Petone Club shot the third match of their series at the Waiwetu range. Rifleman A. Ballinger put up a good shoot, getting 100 out of 105, including a possible at 600,vds.
