THE BRITISH ARMY ESTIMATES
LABOUR PARTY ANXIOUS ABOUT TOE FUTURE CRY OF CONSCRIPTION RAISED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, March 5. The executive of tho Labour Party has passed a resolution declaring that it views with disquietude tho Government's policy as outlined in Mr. Churchill's Army Estimates. These assume a European policy of prolonged interference and military responsibility, which will menace peacu and the settlement of Europe. An essential feature of a democratic League of Nations is tho prohibition of conscription in every shape and l'onn in every nation joining the League. Also it is essential to establish a deliberative democratic assembly within the League which will represent the peoples instead of tho Governments, and shall bo elected directly by Parliament. The principle of tho open door must be applied to all colonial possessions and protectorates—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
