A SOLDIER COLLAPSES. By Telegraph—Press Association. lrivercargill, February 7. An inquest was held regarding the death of Gilbert Duncan, a returned soldier, who died at tho hospital under nil anaesthetic for the removal of adenoids. Medical evidence was to the effect that the heart was normal and the organs healthy. At tho base of tho skull was a tumour about the size of a walnut, which pressed on the medulla, causing vesnirntory failure. Only a little chloroform had been administered, when debased changed colour, and administration was immediately stopped and artificial respiration resorted to. _ Tho heart went on beating for three miliules. Tho inquest was adjourned.
