A DAIRYING TRANSACTION. In the Supremo Court yesterday tho caso of Ernest Hadley against Annio Sank and Arthur T; Munn came on for hearing. The Chief Justico (Sir Robert Stout) was 011 the bench. Mr. T. W. Hislop appeared for the plaintiff, Mr. IF. Myers for Annie Sent, and Mr. P. W. Juckson for A. T. Munn. Tho plaintiff's • statement of olaim 6et out that on or about July 29, 1918, tho defendant seized and took eight cows belonging to the plaintiff from the paddook of the plaintiff, and had over sinoe kept th.< same. The oows were valuable dairy oows, almost ready for the milking season, and 1 the dofondants had since used the said cows as milkers, and had obtained the benefit thereof. Tho defendants, when they seized the said oows, left in his paddock eight cows which plaintiff believes to defendant Annio Eenk, and he required) the defendants to take the samo away and restore his cattle, and'they refused to do so. The value of the produce of tho eight cows was '£U per month. Tho value of tho cows was £20 each. The plaintiff thereforo claimed at the rate of £U per month from July 29, 1918, till their return, or ,£IOO and dBU per month from July 29, 191S, till judgment,- and the costs of tho action. The defence was a general denial of tho allegations. . The action arose out of a transaction in a farm. It was said that Hadloy, who is a, builder, purohasod the dairy- farm and stock belonging ,to the defendant Munn in the Dannevirko district, and it 'was alleged that eight of the cows purchased by Hadley had been removed to' the property of Annie Sjenk; the other defendant, ana' inferior animals substiReveral witnesses were called on both sides. The hearing of tho case occupied nearly the wholo day. _ _ His Honour reserved decision.
