TRAVELLERS' SURPRISE PACKETS
• « The surprise packet scheme inaugurated by the travellers for tho benefit of the dependants of the men of tho mercantile marine differs considerably from the usual art union, inasmuch as there are no_ blanks. Every envelope will contain a voucher for a useful prize to tho value of from 6d. upwards, includine a motor-car valued at J!350, sections of land, prime sheep, and many other useful articles. A display of some 'of the articles in the window of tho New Commercial Hotel Buildings, Lambton Quay, is exciting very great interest. Reptret is oxpressed by visitors to the town that they aro unable to purchase coupons at the present time, but this would interfere with the arrangements of the travellers,; who aro desirous of giving immediate delivery of goods after the sale of thj coupons. Hence these will not be sold until the opening day, March 13.
