At a mpptintt. of the executive of the Returned Soldiers' Association, a discussion look place regarding the unemploy- ■ nipnt of returned soldiers in the city. The following motion was carried:— ~ "The executive of the Christchurch Re- , turned Soldiers' Association appeals to , s Christchurch employers to engage returned soldiers whenever nossible. It " is fell that whilst a largo number of local firms are engaging returned soldiers, others are not playing the era me. as they are content to employ girls and women to do men's work. In view of tho fact that lliero are at present one hundred returned soldiers seeking employment, the association asks all employers to endeavour to find work for these men." n It was. decided to send.copies of the reir solution to the Repatriation Board and the Employers' Ajssociation.
