Dunedin, March 5. The half-yearly conference of the New Zealand Catholic Federation Dominion Council opened to-day. The following delegates were present:—'Wellington: 'Fathers ' O'Connell and Hurley, Major Hulpin; Auckland: Messrs. Burns and Fitzgerald: Chnstclnircli: Fathers Kerley- and Peoples, Mr. Dookm: Dunedin: Very Rev. Coffey (diocesan administrator). Messrs. Poppelwell and Hussey. Miss Girling Butcher, general secretory, was in attendance. The president (Mr. Poppelwell) occupied the chair. •The report of the Dominion Executive showed satisfactory progress. The conference agreed that the Dominion Executive should interview the hierarchy as 600n as possible regarding the educational policy of the Catholic body, and take what action was deemed nocesThe question of uniform scholarship examination was considered, and it wa6 decided to convene a conference of teachI ers to arrange a uniform scheme.
