ST. DAVID'S DAY 1919
St. David's Day, so loved and honoured by the Welsh people, was.duly celebrated by the Welsh Society of Wellington on Saturday evening .at Godber's rooms, Cuba, '' Street, There was a very : large attendance of members and friends. The toast of the Patron Saint was drunk with musical honours. The programme consisted of songs, quartets, and recitation's very ably rendered by members of the society and friends. Mrs. Hattan, Misses Lewis, Tucker, Owen, and Messrs. Watkins, Tucker, lioberts, G. Jenkins, Davies, Rowlands, T. Jenkins, J. Connell. During the evening the president, Mr. 11. M. Griffiths, presented to. Mr. Evan'Parry a framed illuminated address, creditably'executed by Mr. W.'li. Bock, and in doing so expressed tho t'eep of the whole of the members-at the loss the society would feel through Mr. Parry's departure for England Uv.ards the end of the month. The Rev. Beoken. ham and Mr. 6. Jenkins also s-puke, expressing their sorrow at Mr. Parry's departure, but wished him and Mrs. Parry and family every success and happiness on their arrival in the Homeland.
