MOETS DBATHS, LESS BIRTHS'. ;| The vital statistics for Wellington for the month of February show a substantial increase in deaths and a falling away in the number of births. .The figurea are as follow:— 1918. 1819. Births • "6 169 Deaths ?o 95 , Marriages 79 .''» Of the marriages noted 31 were performed in the office of the registrar. In January and February of this year there were twice as many deaths in Wellington as there were for the corresponding period of last year, whilst the birthrate has dropped by 73.
