EVIDENCE AT TIIIAEU. By Telegraph—Press Asaoclatlon. Timaru, February 28. The Industries Committee 6at for four hours this afternoon, and exhaustive evidence was taken on the wheat-growing industry, John Talbot' being-the chief witness. Other matters dealt with were the -Island fruit trade, deep-sea fishing off Timaru, the rectification of railway tariff anomalies, the fur industry, and electric power. Members of the committee to-morrow morning will be given a motor tour of the district.
