The Y.W.C.A. Executive Conference will open in Christchurch on Tuesday. Miss Snelsoni the national general secretary for Australasia,' passed'through WeK lington en route for-Christchurch to attend this, conference.. An informal tea was [riven bv some' H the members of the Wellington Board of Directors at "which Miss Snelson was present. After the tea Miss Snelson'-'told about the opportunities' that hate..been opened, up for .rjvis since -the war, and of the new vision that is coming to Y.W.C.A. 'workers in England for work 'amongst girls. The delegates who are going from Auckland to the Executive Conference are .Mrs. Tnild Smith, Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. Whitney, Mrs Smeeton.' and Miss Carruthers. Dr. Ada Patterson, who has consented to lie president and leader of,the hew clubs that have, just been formed at the Y W C.A., met the. leaders of., these .clubs last week, and a programme was planned for the next few weeks.. Some practical sick-room demonstrations were given..The next meeting will be held on Monday night, and it will ..begin with ■'nnysical culture exercises foi\tuo*girls, with jltes Crime as leader. Th? question of' establishing a separate Y W C'.A. Notional .Board for New Zealand, apart from that, of' Australia, .was dismissed fully at an active members meeting held at the Y.W.C.A. on Thursday evening. A vote was taken, and the result was an: overwhelming/majority for separation. ■ ■ • . . \ny girls who wish to join the Y.W.C.A. dressmaking and millinery classes aro c.sked to attend at tho Y.W.C.A.. Fowlds's Buildings. Herbert Street, on Tuesday evening for dressmaking, and (Wednesday- eTen, "j; for dressmaking and millinery, at 7.30 p.m. |. The teachers will be in attendance, and an opportunity will b; afforded .at tliw preliminary meeting, of considering the best procedure for the ensuing term of ten weeks. . , Chancellor Bradford, of America wilt deliver a lecture, entitled New World Citizenship," in the Empress .Theatre on Sunday next, when the young men and voting women of the city will have an opn'ortunitv of hearing this exponent ol.reconstruction. .
