' ~ .. ..POLICE CASES. The proceedings at. tho Magistrate's Court yesterday were presided over by Mr. F. V. Frazer, 5.M. A sailor named Jakob Askel Jacobsen was charged with having wilfully damflßed a window, at the Thistle Inn Hotel. The window was stated'to'bo'.valued at £3 10s. Defendant said the affair wasan accident. "Apparently it was a case of a squabble, and the window.accidentally got in the way," tsaid Mr. Ifrazer;.' "HpweveVi you will have to make good' ■the. damage. , ' ' Defendant .was ordered to pay .£3 10s. to.recoup the licensee of the hotel, William Bannefin, ■-...•• On.charges, of drunkenness, Mary, Jane Sniith. was ordered to'forfeit the nmouht of. her bail. .£l, Alfred.. Anderson wris fined ill and prohibited, and Arabroso Patterson'Williams, Oliver Dunfcird, and .Totiti Russell were each'fined 10s. ' Alfred Asher-Davey, who was charged;with helpless drunkenness, was remanded for a m eek. in order that, he might undergo medical treatment. ' Acting-Sub-Inspec-. tor Emerson raid, that the defendant had bee.i drinkingfontome time, and on'Tues-. das , he became dangtroiis, and: wanted' to attack all and sundry. DaVey said., ■he had been sufFering from neurasthenia, anid, until recently, had not had o,.drink for eighteen ■ months. He was at 'prersent tinder the caro of a military doctor. James'Jackson,'for whom Mr. P.;.W. Jackson appeared, was remanded for a weak on a charge of having committed, bigamy, in that while married to Martha White'she he did go through a form of inarriaffo with Gladys May' Mortis. ;Bail was allowed nv the sum of .
