' The following are the fixtures for the ladies' competition matches for Saturday next:— Senior—Petono A v. Wellington A, at Wellington; Newtown v. Wellington B, at Newtown; Petone B v. Victoria College, at Petone. The junior competition has now bees completed, Wellington C team being the winner.
The Whaugarei Racing Club has decided to adopt a progressive policy, increasing the stake money by .£SOO for the next meeting, which will lie hcldl on two days in October, instead of January as formerly, if permission is granted.— Press Assn. In some churches of Continental Europe notices may be seen requesting women to keep on their hate.
