PRICE OF BACON

GOVERNMENT PIXES MAXIMUM. By Order-in-Council issued last night the Government fixes the maximum retail price of bacon at Is. 6d. per lb., or Is. 7d per lb. when cut into rashers. The Board of Trade may allow, a retailer to increase this maximum price if it considers that special circumstances warrant the increase.
