Klnsdon and Gorringe iu the farm on' Thursday. There was a good attendance of buyers, and the etpca that was offered was in nice condition, nnd met with keen competition. The. Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Limited. P/hiatna, report ou their annual ewe fair held on Monday ae follows :-A full yarding of about 17.CC0 sheep came forward, some 2500 odd being withdrawn from sale on .account of having just been dipped and other reasons, this accounting for the shortage on the advertised number. Included in the offering were some excellent linee of four and five-year-old ewee chiefly 'comprising annual drafts from the principal eheep farmers in the district. A large attendance of buy- . ere representative of Hawke's Bay, Wanganui, I'almerstou North, Levin,'Masterton, and this district keenly competed for the best lines offered. Yendore in practically every instance were prepared'.■'■to accept market values, no reserves bums: given, which appeared to stimulate the confidence of the public, and an excellent sale resulted, about IS.OCO head being disposed of under the hammer out of tho total entry, which the auctioneers think is a record. The mile was controlled by Mr. Sbuthey Fowler, as timo-keoper, who kept tho public and the auctionetrs up to the mark, the sale| commencing at 11.30 and ..finishing at aboqt 3.30. Ileet lines of four-year-old ewes ranged in va.'we from 265. 7d. to 275. 3d., medium lines averaging about 235.; four and .five-year ewes (best lines) Hold at from 245. 6d. up to 27a.; medium lines (average) about 215.; good-skinned young ewea ivere in good demand; four and six-tooth realising up-to 28sr6d.; and foiir-tootha to -295. 3d. up to 365. 3d., this latter price being paid lor. a small pen of 79 heavy-skinned Liucolns Bold on account of Mr.!'P.
