Preparations for Chautauqua week aro proceeding apace. Yesterday, another member of tho Chautauqua Parly, ChaiH cellor.G. H. Bradford, of Oklahoma University, was welcomed in the Mayor's room at the Town Hall by the members of the local Chautauqua Committer. Mr. A. Butt presided. Replyiug to his welcome, Chancellor Bradford told the story of the Chautauqua movement from its earliest inception oil the shores of Lake Chautauqua (pronounced "Sh-tulk-wa)," to its present national vogue i;: i the United States, and a following of I forty million people. Dr. Bradford wont I on to say that' it was not enough | that Mr. Massey, Mr. Lloyd Ueorge, i and President Wilson should know! ono anothor as they did now, but it was ! vital to the world's interests that-the dif- ■ ferent peoples should know one another, i and they could to a great extent through j the Chautauqua movement.
