CANTERBURY DEFEAT AUCKLAND 192 RUNS TO THE GOOD By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, February 24. The Plunkot Shield match conoluded to-day, Canterbury winning by 182 runs. That the best side won there can be littlo doubt. The Aucklanders possibly did not show (heir best butting form, but for fl>e matter of that, Canterbury were probauly worth more runs than they made had they been wonted. Canterbury's six wickets to-day only added 81 run's. Midlane gave the most spirited display oil the side. Ha was always looking for runs, and his 28 Were made in quick time, mostly by good leg-strokes. M'lieth was Again stiir bowlir for Canterbury., and his fix for 112 was a good performance. Thr- local men again acquitted themselves very well in' the field.
