MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday,- and dealt with>the police ca6e6. John Henry Faithful was charged with having on February 21, at Wellington, stolen 301b. of Richmond Navy tobacco, valued at .£l2,' tho property of somo person or persons unknown. On the application of Detective Cox he was remanded to March 1; bail was allowed in .£IOO and one" surety of .£IOO or two of o£'so each.' A remand to February 26 was granted iu\the case of Lawrence John Jlaloney, who was charged with breaking and entering the shop of James William Martin and stealing therefrom boots of tho value of M 95., the property of James W. Martin. Bail was allowed in ',£IOO, and one surety of XIOO or two of ,650 each. For insobrietv one first offender was .fined 10s., aridiCharles M'Donald, against whoin there wero two previous convictions, -was fined 205., -with -the alternative of seventy-two hours' imprisonment.
