LABOUR'S ASPIRATIONS
SYNDICALISTS' PERNICIOUS TEACHINGS CONDEMNED. (Rec. February 23, 5.5 p.m.) London, February 20. Mr. C. G. Wade (New South Wales Agent-General) entertained at luncheon Mr. G. S. Beeby (the New South Wales Minister of Labour and Industry). Captain L. C. Aniery, M.P., Sir George Fiddes (Permanent Under-Secretary for the Colonies), Lieut.-General Sir John Monash (Australian Commander), Sir Timothy Coghlnn (representative of Australia on the Pacific Cable Board), Colonel Frederick Young (Commandant of Anzacs on Gallipoli), tho Right Rev. G. M. Long (Bishop of Bathurst), Sir Newton Moore (formerly Agent-General for, West Australia, and several' agents-general'were present. Mr. Beeby protested against the pernicious teachings of tho syndicalists, but justified labour's aspirations for a standard working day, a living wage, and the regulation of juvenile and women's labour. The present unrest. was international. Every nation was impelled to adopt a. r"w industrial charter. He belioved that the Whitely rcheme would avert i coinmunistio Socialism. -Aus.-N.Z. Cable i Assn.
