. A meeting of the Trentham Art' Union Committee was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. S, ICirkcaldie presiding. It wns decided to make representations to the Newspaper Proprietors' Association, < which -will sit in conference in Wei* lington nexi'. week, soliciting their help in the cainpaij'ii. The meeting also resolved to make an appeal for more canvassers to assist the object in view. Various people, it was pointed out, were finite willing to subscribe to the fund, but tlio need of concentrated effort in making tlio scheme a success was urgent. The aim of-the promoters of the project is a very worthy one, and the help.-of all sections of . the romnninity is required iu order that the turn! shall be established on n perfectly stable basis. 1 AS GOOD AS A HOLIDAY. .
