A meeting of Hie Social Committee /of I the British and Foreign Sailors' Society was held in the society's rooms, lost Office Square, this.week. Arrangements I were made for a social evening for sailors, to be held in tho Naval , Boatnif? Club Hall on Saturday night of this week, and it is anticipated that pleasant; evening will bo enjoyed by the sailors 'belonging lo tho various vessels in port. It was unanimously decided to hold a picnic for sailors on Easter Monday at Miramnr Racecourse. Tho committee desires to appeal to the public for financial assistance to enable them to give the sailors a really good time. In tho event of the weather "being unsuitable for outdoor enjoyment, the sailors will not be. disappointed, as arrangements will be piade as usual for entertaining thorn in the city.
