The statistics as to the season's lambing, given in the current number of the Official Abstract of Statistics, shows that the estimated number of lambs in the North Island for 1918 is 5,881,682, as Against 6,539,033 for 1917. For the South Island the figures are 4,728,391 and 5,072,307 respectively; and for the Dominion 'as a whole 10,610,073 as cgninst 11,611,310.
