Clemenceau was leaving his home this morning, a man, who had been waiting, rapidly fired five ehots at him from a revolver. One bullet wounded M. Clemenceau in the shoulder, but not dangerously. Clemenceau grappled with. his assailant, who was airrestdid after being severely thrashed by the crowd. At the time of the attack, JI. Clemenceau was on his way to a conference with Mr.'Balfour and Colonel House. He waiked home after the assault. Today's conferences have been caaielled. \ There is some anxiety as to the effect of the shock, owing to M.
