EDUCATION BOARD
$ MONTHLY MEETING. The Wellington Education Board met yesterday. Present: Messrs. T. Forsyth (chairman) C. J-. Harkness, G. Lundon, A. W.- Hogfr, E; P.- 'Bishtvorth, T. Moss, J. P. Shand, J. J. Clark, If. A. Wright, M.P., R. IT'Callum, M.P.", and E. H. Penny. The resignations of the following teachers were accepted:—-Miss M. ]■"!. Murray, assistant, Masterton; Miss W. Was'tney, sole teacher, Hocks Aided School; Miss H. Maitland, solo teacher, Waitai Aided School ; Mr. J. Suggan, assistant, Berhampore; Miss K. Morgan, assistant, Newtown; Miss K. T. Stuckey, /,o!o teacher, I\aitaraj Mr. F. W. Mothes, assistant, Pelone D.H.S.; Miss M. Jermyn, sole teacher, Waireka Aided School; Miss B. M. Crawford, temporary assistant, Eastern Unit; Mrs. W. I). Stevenson, sole teacher, 'l'e Whiti; Miss A. A'. Dowdeswell, assistant, Newtown; Miss H. Taylor, home science instructress.
.The reports of committees were considered and dealt with.
The chairman said that the attention of the.Education. Department'would be, drawn to the fact thai normal school teachers were not included in tho recent improved scale of salaries. He thought that this was due to an oversight.
Various matters were dealt with in committee before the board lose.
