THE RABOTONGANS ENTERTAINED

A concert was given at Somes Island on Tuesday, evening, by members of the. Wellington "Cheer-Oh .Girls" M.r. W.'Goudie, and the Central Mission. Band. The party left the Ferry Whrirf.at G.30.0n the' Janie Seddon, the band playing a number of selections on the journey across. On arrival at the, island the party, was met by the officers, and a number of men. In the absenco of any building suitable for the purpose, the concert was held in the open air. The 'first part of the programme was given by the Central Mission Band. The:following programme was then submitted: —"Monterey," Miss Helen Gunn; "Coming Ashore," Miss Pearl Wright; recitation, Miss Eoso Carte; song, Mr. Goudie; "Eileen Alannah, Miss. A. Richardson; "Oh, Johnnie," Misses A. Gunn and D. Webb; "Arizona," Miss Pearl Wright; recitation, Miss Pauline Brown; song, Miss Beatrice Price; "Texas Way," Miss Helen Gunn; song,. Sir. Goudie; "Sjvanoo River," Miss Alice Gunn. . Mr. Goudie also rendered "Mother M'Creo" in excellent style. . A number of choruses were then sung by all present, and the National Anthem brought to a conclusion a very successful evening; the Earotongans expressing their appreciation in a round of hearty cheers.
