M.P.'S AT VARIANCE
■ ME. SEMPLE AND MR..ELL.' ■By Telegraph-Press.Association. Greymputh, February-18. ' The following telegram lias been sent to the Acting-Prime Minister by Mr.'R. Setnple, M.P., regarding a statement by Mr. H. G. Ell, M.P.:-"It is reported by the Christchuvch Tress' that Mr. Ell, M.P.', has etated that he has for-, warded to you a newspaper report of my alleged statements which he characterised as an insult to the soldiers and their mothers. Please note my objection to the 'report. . . . Mr. Ell was Slot present .at my meeting, and therefore -bases his unwarranted charges on a distorted report, , on which he seeks to enlist'sympathy of soldiers and:, their mothers. Such action on the part of a public man is, in my opinion,' unjust. (Signed)' Semple," [Mr.- Semple alleges that the report misrepresents'him.]
