DISABLED SOLDIERS

AN AUCKLAND SCHEME: By Telegraph-Press Association. Auckland; February 18. The Executive of the Patriotic Association, decided to-day to secure an area of land near the city for subdivision into small sections for returned soldiers partially or totally, permanently disabled. The proposal is to erect cottages on sections and provide a means of earning a livelihood, such as beekeeping, poultryraising, etc. It is estimated that .£IOO,OOO will lie required for the scheme. The Claims Board of the association will investigate the best method of carrying out .the scheme. The association's future activities will also include provision for relief of dependants of deceased soldiers.
