NATIONAL DISPUTES COMMITTEE MEETS EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT EXPECTED The National Disputes Committee, calloJ to consider the recent trouble at the Blackball mine, met in Wellington yesterday, This committee consists of representatives of the coalmine owners and of the miners. The Blackball miners, it will be remembered, are demanding changes in the conditions of working that would greatly reduce production. * The committee met in the morning and the afternoon, and both parties stated subsequently that they had nothing to report. It is understood that an announcement regarding the dispute may be made in a Ulay or two. The miners at the State colliery resumed work yesterday. These men left work originally because they wanted a doctor provided for the district, and after this demand had been met they stayed out in support of a demand for the reinstatement of certain men at the Blackball mine. The men have not been reinstated.

A large meeting of the Runanga Medical Association was held yesterday, when the delegates reported on the result, of their Wellington visit. It was resolved to accept the temporary arrangement made by the Minister.
A subsequent meeting of .the Miners' Union agreed to the proposal for resumption of work.
